Formula 1 teams have been given revised minimum rear tyre pressures for today’s United States Grand Prix.
Revised limits issued by Pirelli require the teams to increase their rear tyre pressures for slick tyres from 20psi to 21.5psi. The rear pressures for intermediate and wet weather tyres have increased by the same amount, to 10.5psi and 20.0psi respectively.
Wet conditions on Friday meant teams have had limited opportunity to test tyre performance over long stints ahead of today’s race.

10.5PSI? That seems very low. Is that a typo or real?

Something is wrong because the quote says that they have increased by the same amount. Clearly 10.5 – 20.0 is not the same as 20 – 21.5.
Then again proof reading posts has never been this sites strong point.

Like you, I was stumped by that. But note they say “respectively”. 10.5 would be the new pressure for Inters and 20.0 the new pressure for Wets, not the before and after like they had presented in the previous sentence.
It could use a do-over to have clearer language. And I’m still suspicious of that 10.5, as well. Seems a bit low, unless Inters are really different from the other tyres.

If a tire had to run 10psi it would be the wet tires and not the intermediates, right?

So they did practice and qualification with other pressures and a few hours before the race Pirelli orders the team to change them?

Overregulated. In two years, Liberty did nothing with regulations and it is to remain the same until at least 2020.
