      Vettel was careless, Stroll was angry. Fairly simple thing.

         I wonder if Stroll was told to rejoin after the Toro Rosso, he let one past and dove at the other.

         Yup vettel actually rejoined the track like an idiot, he was completely out of the track when he tried to rejoin were have we seen that before. Stroll was in the middle of the track after being taken out by vettel much more understandable then the stupidity of vettel

      I guess they couldn’t really see much, since with the HANS around their necks they cannot really turn their heads much @jerejj, @klon.

      Vettel really messed up there, he torpedoed onto the track hitting Stroll. Stroll waited, probably thought that was it but at least he didn’t move as fast. Also Stroll’s car was at a pretty dangerous place to be even before he moved, so it made sense getting out of the way. Vettel only moved back onto track because he hoped to avoid dropping down the whole field.

      I think the FIA wanted either to get T-boned. why were the penalties different? It’s all subjective with the stewards, sainz jr pushed albon super optimistic move off track then leclerc pulled a monaco 2016 and got away with it, lewis ran on like rosberg and lost a position. too many rules no consistency.
      Vettel pushed too hard, like webber has said all along, Vettel needs that supporting voice on the helmet, he was doing a great job but he tried too hard. Seb almost won here in the past, today was a much better chaance and leclerc just takes everything on his stride.

         Stroll didn’t hit anyone, I think that made the difference. Yes, the other car had to take avoiding action off track, but still, no contact.

      Bottas is not Lewis. Had Lewis stopped 5 laps later he well have won

      Well, Bottas did have to close up, and the tyres were giving up as well. Also, those 2-3 laps he needed to get onto the Ferrari gave Leclerc the time to calm down and find his rithm.

      But Hamilton also hadn’t been able to pass because of the speed of the Ferrari in a straight line, not a big surprised Bottas couldn’t. I’d say the hard tyres were the optimal choice for Ferrari, since they were going well on them, enough to be able to push to the finish.

         Also note that when Hamilton was behind earlier on, he couldn’t overtake even when he was on newer tyres than Bottas at the end. And there were plenty of occasions where Leclerc had no DRS here. Bottas however every time he was within DRS of Leclerc, Leclerc also had it. I don’t think Bottas had any real advantage of getting by Leclerc over what Hamilton had earlier on. I’m not convinced Hamilton would have got him had things been reversed.

         But anyway, Hamilton could have stayed ahead of Bottas if it wasn’t for wrecking his tyres driving right up against Leclerc and making a mistake. You can only blame him for that. Hamilton overall looked to have a slight edge speed wise on Bottas this weekend, but only marginally. Bottas was still very strong, especially for the time of year compared to the last 2. I think he did a slightly better job than Hamilton this race.

   Agree it was their straight line speed but I think that Lewis is more pugnacious !

   I doubt Bottas could have done anything….obviously they were hoping Charles tyres would deg but as mentioned above the hard seemed the perfect choice…. the merc seemed super slow on the straight in comparison with ferrari, but given that we have expected Spa and Monza to be strong for them all year they are prob disappointed it wasnt a collection of 1,2 finishes.
