The new AlphaTauri AT-01 has run for the first time today at the Misano circuit in Italy.

The team’ two race drivers Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat shook down the new car from the team previously known as Toro Rosso.

  1. I just noticed some “heat waves” coming off the rear wing of the car, presumably from the car exhaust. I suspect this is a very common thing and happens on lots of these cars, but I just noticed it. I’m guessing the rear wing is well able to withstand the effect of the hot exhaust, otherwise there’s the remote chance of it failing during a race.

    1. Renault last year even tried to use these exhaust to influence the air over the wing.
      They protected the wing with special material.
      To really use these fumes is not allowed.
      The rb15 has some real gold plating as protection of the Dr’s supports.

  3. I can’t belive people actually find this boring, bland black and white livery amazing. It’s the least visually interesting livery since those horrid dark gray McLarens in 2016.
