    1. The “Gap to leader” is the silliest and most useless thing ever.

      1. its a legacy stat from a time when the cars drove flat out to the line.

These days they drive for position and then to save the engine. Its all about risk and benefit, percentages.

        1. Just saying, If verstappen had gotten by Hamilton, he would have almost certainly gotten by Russell….

          1. I have a hard time believing that, verstappen recovered as quickly as leclerc did, and then as you could see in the end, merc ran away from the ferraris.

    2. Hilarious that Perez helped Max win the championship last year, yet the little boy can’t even gift him pack a pathetic 6th place. What a baby.

      1. I wonder if Perez was thinking about that championship battle for 2nd place when he let those two ferraris by.
Hard to bellieve he was driving a championship-winning car.

        1. Have you started watching F1 a week ago or why this bad take?

    3. Mega job by wingman Hamilton to keep Verstappen back. You shall not pass.

That said that restart by Russell is what allowed Verstappen to slipstream Hamilton.

Congrats to Mercedes on the win, which also finally allowed the national anthem to be played.
I can’t think of the last time the uk anthem wasn’t played in a formula 1 season, but the
f1 industry based here in the UK, needed this too.

      1. Well, shouldn’t be too hard to work out because hamilton won a race every single year, so we’d have to go back to 2006 at least, and that season I think only ferrari and renault won races, mclaren was slow and reliable, the opposite of the previous year, and since the drivers were german, brazilian, spanish and italian, I guess that’s it, 16 years.
